The bond goes both ways. And everyone reacts to it differently.

Particularly for a shiki who's been tasked to protect their master.

Then why offer an alternative? Wouldn't that same logic apply to any shiki, regardless of where it comes from?

It would be different in that...should you or they become infected, the tie would be cut off. If you were infected, they would seek out those who would assist you; if they were infected, they would be bound and rely an emergency beacon for them to be dealt with.

Least, that's one alternative route.

I see. I should clarify that I'm not interested in forming additional contracts, just curious about where the risk lies. It's something to keep in mind when talking to the others with similar abilities.

As I said, if one gets infected, the other would become infected.

This is especially true of humanoid contracts.

If you're trying to say that I'm being unfair, I am not. Those whose shikis come from their auras are risking themselves.

Huh. So it turns out I would have been better off if I was unpleasant enough that nothing humanoid wanted to make a contract with me. That's a little ironic. [no shade to Matoba but full shade to Matoba.] Too bad I have such a famously good personality.

I understand what you're saying. I really do. But is there a reason the skeleton didn't just tell me that in the first place?

You didn't ask. The Birthday Skeleton could have told you its limitations if you asked.

It's one of their rules. They cannot bring ayakashi or any other kind of sentient being over.

Did you ask if it was a rule?

I can't believe in the span of four days I've been scolded by both you and a skeleton wearing a party hat. No, I didn't ask if it was a rule. It was my mistake for thinking of it as a conversation instead of determining the boundaries of the contract.
